Originally a section of the Groot Constantia estate, Eagles Nest is a high quality estate with winemaking/growing by Kevin Watt and Cape legend, Martin Meinert.The only white is Viognier, planted at the insistence of Executive Director, Peter Stewart, who loves the variety.
The Story Marsanne Roussane Viogner is produced from the only Marsanne and Roussanne planted in the Grampians region, with grapes from the Westgate vineyard, home to some of the best Shiraz they produce. The wine is fermented using natural yeasts and undergoes a secondary malolactic fermentation.
This White Saint-Joseph is a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne. A brilliant green gold colour. The nose shows very pure floral aromas that mingle with citrus and preserved fruit. On the palate, the wine has similar flavours, with an added touch of honey. Its finish is clean and clear, with flavours of flowers and fresh almonds.
A blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne from El Dorado in California. The 2016 Smithereens is a balanced, medium-bodied expression of a blend, with just the right amount of structure, acid, and fruit.
Another superb wine from the Donnhoff range! This is a Trocken Riesling that shows lovely notes of flowers, spice and peach. The palate is dry but the nose makes the drinker believe it is much sweeter. Great value for money.
This stunning Rousanne, Chardonnay, Chenin blend is made in very small quantities and a true hidden gem to own. The grapes are grown on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge property, Hemelrand. Yellow apple, peach and apricot as well as ginger and spice. Great depth of flavour and pleasantly oily in texture.
This Gruner Veltliner hails from Gaisberg, a sub region in Kamptal also known as the little brother of Heiligenstein. The wine is a deep yellow green, with aromas of quince, blood orange and honeydew melon, with excellent spicy fruit characters, it is a dry wine but has a delicate sweetness, and well balanced acidity on the palate.
A rich and enticing blend of Chenin Blanc and Viognier from Swartland. City on a Hill is made by Andre Bruyns, assistant winemaker to David and Nadia Sadie. The wine presents ripe stone fruit, honeyed notes and a touch of hay on the nose. Ripe and fleshy on the palate, with concentrated fruit and textural lees complexity.
Voski hails from one of the oldest wine growing regions in the world in Armenia. A blend of native grape varieties Voskeat and Grandmak, this is a complex and rich white. The wine is floral and spicy with vibrant stone fruit. Fresh on the palate with vivid acidity and a layered complexity, this is a serious white with real depth.
Pale white gold in color with a youthful and protective greenish tint, vibrant with classic aromas of saffron, passion fruit, lemon candy, ginger, sweet oak spices, cinnamon, and a mineral saline note.

The Beaumont Vitruvia 2015 maiden vintage was a brilliant vintage with close to perfect growing conditions. . Sebastian Beaumont has created a white blend formed from old vine Chenin, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon and Colombard. It is perfectly balanced, dry, yet rich and delicate and has oodles of class.
This is a very good white wine from the excellent Domaine Chevalier. The wine shows notes of citrus, honey and hay on the nose. The palate has a perfect combination of lemon citrus and stone fruit, intermingled with a hint of vanilla and spice.
A combination of fruit from the very first western corridor vineyard grafted over to Viognier by Alban in 1986 and some of his estate Edna Valley fruit (which he began producing in 1993). A new vineyard, which will play a more prominent role in subsequent vintages brings deep stone fruit and restrained tropical notes to the blend.
A blend of Los Carneros Chardonnay with Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, and Grenache Blanc from the Central Coast with a finish of Chenin Blanc and Semillon. Complex and delicious with aromas of mandarin orange and honeydew melon, hints of marzipan and toasted hazelnut adding a layer of complexity.
This wine is full bodied for a white wine with potent honeysuckle, pear, ginger and apricot aromas. It shows the classic mouth coating Viognier texture balanced by a refreshing acidity. Not overly aromatic and peachy this is a very serious weighty alternative to top White burgundy.
