Montepulciano

Gran Sasso Montepulciano D`Abruzzo 2018

The Gran Sasso wines are from Ortona in the Abruzzi, home to Valentino Sciotti who is also closely involved in the Vesevo, Primo and Farnese ranges. Marco Flacco is the winemaker here and has made a range which has a freshness and vivacity often lacking in wines from this area.

Adoro Naturally Sweet Mourvedre 50cl 2013

Adoro Naturally Sweet Mourvedre 50cl 2013

This wine has been made to be a perfect match for cheese and is naturally sweet as opposed to being late harvested or fortified. Very well balanced, this would also work supremely well with sweet desserts and not just cheeses.

The Liberator Ep.21 MSG 2017

The Liberator Ep.21 MSG 2017

“GSM” and “SMG” are both everyday acronyms within the wine fraternity for blends of these 3 grape varieties, but have you ever come across a wine labelled as MSG…? I suspect not, and it’s because producers are afraid that their wine will be tarnished with a link to the well-known, much-maligned food flavour enhancer.

Farnese Cinque Autoctoni 2014

Farnese Cinque Autoctoni 2017

The Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes are from the Abruzzi while the rest are grown in Southern Puglia. For this reason, the wine is classified as a Vino da Tavola. A deeply coloured, intense and powerful wine that is, according to its creator, Valentino Sciotti, ‘a true taste of Southern Italy’ Deep red in colour, with garnet tones.
