Bin No 1 Shiraz is a classic, cool climate, aromatic Shiraz, made in a style that is perfumed, spicy and peppery, yet well balanced with no overt dominance of alcohol. It’s a great match with food - particularly dishes like spring lamb.
Big Easy Cabernet was sourced from the Helderberg region within Stellenbosch, with selected parcels from different coastal regions to complete the blend. The great vintage of 2015 gives the Big Easy Cabernet Sauvignon a slightly more serious side. Rich and elegant with notes of dark chocolate, cinnamon spice and ripe plums fill the glass.
This Winemakers Reserve blend is widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s finest reds. The grapes are harvested from low-cropping, old vines in the Gimblett Gravels vineyards of Cornerstone and Ngakirikiri. It`s deeply coloured with aromatics hinting at black fruits, dried herbs, cocoa and cedar.
Château Haut-Beauséjour, is a beautiful wine from Saint Estephe. The wine offers tobacco and cold cinders on the nose with dark fruits. It has long, rich palate with notes of morello cherry and blackcurrant. Fine supple tannins and a fresh acidity adds energy and poise to the wine. Delicious.
The 2014 Antiquarian Shiraz was selected from the finest Barossa grapes and matured in French oak barriques for 24 months.The wine is glorious upon release and will develop even greater complexity with cellaring for up to 10 years. The wine is a deep crimson red, showing brick edges.
Another fantastic super Tuscan from Petra. Intense ruby-red in colour, Quercegobbe displays rich aromas of red fruits with subtle notes of spice, balsamic traces and eucalyptus. It is extremely elegant with a pleasant mineral flavour, fine tannins and an enduring bouquet. Body, alcohol content and acidity are all well balanced.
Based on Rick’s ‘Marshall System’, Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics has been awarded a maximum 110 points. Hardly surprising when one considers the wine was made by André Van Rensburg at Vergelegen, with the final blend agreed alongside international consultant, Michel Rolland.
Produced from fruit from carefully selected vineyards in prime appellations in the Napa Valley. Yields are carefully managed for maximum ripeness and concentration and the harvest is carried out by hand to ensure that the fruit is in immaculate condition when it arrives at the winery.
