A new discovery from a tiny, single hectare of Chenin blanc vines in the Coteaux du Vendômois, whose vineyards lie on the both banks of the Loir, a tributary of the River Loire. Bright stone-fruit flavour and appetising freshness.
The juice was barrel-fermented in 228l second-fill Burgundy-shaped barrels, and matured “sur-lie” in thebarrel for 8 months with occasional “barrel rolling” to add richness to the palate. To accentuate the fresh citrus flavour, 32 % tank-fermented Chenin Blanc was blended with the barrel fermented portion.
This vintage is a beautiful expression of the grape capturing the full flavour and potential that our terroir has to offer. It is a delicious example of cooler climate Chenin Blanc fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Dry, fresh and delicious!
The white grapes were pressed before the fermentation started at 18°C. The wine was fortified using natural grape spirit, which caused the fermentation to stop and left a sweet wine with 16% alcohol, relatively light in alcohol for a fortified wine. The wine was then aged for seven years in old, large oak barrels.
The prominent acidity of Chenin Blanc grapes from the Loire allows for the production of exceptional `méthode traditionelle` sparkling wines. This Cremant de Loire is a pale lemon in colour with notes of baked apples on the nose. The palate has a lovely, soft mousse with notes of lemon, apple, honeysuckle and brioche.
Light in alcohol at 12%. Medium yellow in colour with green tints. A bright, aromatic nose filled with crisp nuances of pink grapefruit, mango and sweet melon, interwoven with hints of soft white tea and honeysuckle.
Strong citrus and guava aromas on the nose with ripe pineapple and peach flavours that follows through on the palate along with crisp pear. These are complemented by a long, clean, crisp aftertaste making this a remarkably concentrated yet fresh and fruity style of Chenin Blanc which will develop with bottle ageing.

Since white Saumur-Champigny doesn’t exist, this wine defaults to the catch-all appellation of Saumur. La Dame, is fermented and aged in new and second fill barriques and larger foudre. It comes from a specific clone of Chenin, planted close to the Medieval church above Parnay, that gives it a great aromatic quality; almost Alsatian in style.

The wine has a stunning pale straw colour with golden flecks. Initially the nose displays aromas of honeysuckle, marzipan and fresh brioche. These are then overpowered by the intense notes of stone fruit, white peaches, honeydew melon and lightly roasted almonds.

The Mullineux Old Vines White is a Chenin heavy blend from Swartland. Pale straw in colour, this wine has a nose of ripe, green citrus fruit and Christmas spices. The palate is fresh and richly textured, with notes of ripe pears, almonds and peaches, and a clove-like finish.
A blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne from El Dorado in California. The 2016 Smithereens is a balanced, medium-bodied expression of a blend, with just the right amount of structure, acid, and fruit.
This Chenin Blanc from Thorne and Daughters is made with minimal intervention, in order to maximise the natrual expression of the terroir. Whole bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeast, ensure this wine if full of character. Lovely gentle mineral notes, white fruit, with hints of hay, fennel and nuts and a vein of fresh acidity on the finish.
Only fruit selected from oldest Chenin Blanc vineyards, planted in 1974 and ‘78, are used for this wine. Barrel fermentation takes place in 400L French oak using only natural yeasts. This Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosh South Africa was awarded 5 Stars in Platter`s in 2017. The wine wine has aromatics of citrus, ripe peach, cut apple and gentle spice with a slight yeasty note. On the finish it has soft acidity with a hint of salinity. It`s a beautiful accompaniment to seafood, salad and white meat dishes.
