Our Wines

Albariño (or Alvarinho, as it is known in northern Portugal) cuttings were first imported into South Africa by Newton Johnson Vineyards in the early part of the last decade, sourcing plant material from UC Davis in California.

Villa Maria produce a whole lot more than Sauvignon Blanc, such as this charming Albarino from Gisborne. The aromas of this wine are intriguing with a fresh scented array of lime, peach, apricot and honeysuckle characters.

Very fashionable dry white wine that has secured an international demand (having `been seen` in Madrid`s Tapas Bars in the 90`s.) Not unlike a chablis in style it has a lively freshness and dry minerality with a creamy finish.

It’s hard to believe Pazo de Señorans have been making wine for a mere 28 years given that they are now considered one of the finest producers in Spain. Anna, the winemaker, is fastidious in her approach, which could not be more pared back or simple.

Orange wine is a white wine made by leaving the juice on the skins for an extended period of time. In this case, the juice from the Albarino is left in contact with the skins for 15 days, this results in an amber colour wine with notes of marmalade and nectarine.

Very pale with green-gold lights. The aroma is scented with wild flowers and white fruits. On the palate at first a luscious texture then a fine crisp citrus finish which makes it an ideal accompaniment to crustaceans.
