This fascinating White Rioja from one of the regions` top producers is made with a blend of white varieties that are very gently hand harvested when the grapes are at optimum ripeness. They are then softly pressed and the must goes into concrete tanks and then into stainless steel tanks for the alcoholic fermentation. Once this is completed, the wine will go into vats and botas of 300 litres and 500 litres that have been previously used by other wines. What does all this mean? Well you end up with a wine that is straw yellow colour with slight golden flecks. On the nose, it’s a complex wine, we find fruits such a pear, apple, white currant and white flowers but also dried fruits and spice. On the palate you get all that and a little salinity and an elegant acidity which provide freshness.
