Tasting Notes:
The Barge family spans seven generations, since 1860 as grape growers in Côte Rôtie. The first bottled wine appeared in 1929. The Syrah and Viognier grapes which make up the `Côte Brune` come from Ampuis, the village at the heart of the Côte Brune appellation. The wine displays aromas of violet, spices, dark fruit and black olive, which follow through on the palate. The wine is full-bodied, with excellent structure and balance with a lifted, spicy finish.
