Its purpose is to explore and preserve the Cape`s vinous heritage, to celebrate the underdogs and the oddities, and hopefully to show that the "workhorse grapes" can make lekker wine." Made in a light style. Bright red fruit, violets and a little bit of spice. Delicious!

Van Loggerenberg `Geronimo` Cinsault 2016

Van Loggerenberg `Geronimo` Cinsault 2017

Geronimo represents four barrels from two parcels of Cinsault, half from 30 year old vines on the Bredell farm in Faure, with the balance from 45 year old material on Jacobsdal in Polkadraai. If your experience to date is of fruity, simple modern Cinsault from the avant-garde Cape, you can be reassured that this example is altogether more serious.

Van Loggerenberg `Graft` Cinsault Shiraz 2017

This wine from Lukas Van Loggerenberg is gloriously clever. It is fermented using whole bunches, fermented and matured for 11 months in old oak. Red berry fruit jumps out of the glass but there is a forest floor complexity to it also. The palate offers lots if fresh acidity, a hint of salinity with a ripe tannin grip.
