Another stunning Shiraz from Rory Lane. Clean, grapey tannins, ironstone earthen, and at the same time spicy and structured. Layers are apparent at this early stage, but will age very harmoniously. Unfined and unfiltered.
Fragrance and headiness, exudes intense perfume, mixed berry fruits, floral notes and spice. Primary fruit leads onto savoury graphite and white pepper underpinned by stalkiness and concentrated meatiness.
Amon-Ra Shiraz is an iconic wine that epitomises Ben Glaetzer’s passion to create wines that are full flavoured, multi layered and intense but still elegant, stylish and finely balanced. Aromas of essence of black cherry, dark plums and fragrant spice.
Perfumed concentration of blackberry, blueberry fruit and complex, fragrant French oak. On the palate there is a layered complexity of vibrant dark fruit and savoury tones. Impressive texture of mouth-coating tannins that provides the framework for the richness and intensity of fruit.
Very deep ruby/purple in colour with dark, intense and very pure aromas of violets and ripe summer berries with touches of roast meats and complex spice notes. On the palate there is lots of black fruit, classic savoury spice and persistent, mouth-coating tannins.
Langmeil is home to The Freedom Shiraz vineyard, which is believed to have been planted in 1843 by vigneron Christian Auricht. Escaping war and persecution in Prussia, Auricht travelled to his new homeland, finding Freedom in the Barossa Valley.
