It offers a wonderful combination of sweet spice and red cherry on the nose. Candied peels, tobacco and even floral notes add a wonderful sense of perfume and nuance and almost every time you go back to this “Cepparello” it is possible to find something new and exciting. Shows both succulent fruit and a more serious and structured backbone of cedar, earth and balsamic notes. Wonderfully complex, the lengthy palate is also shot through with baked herb and a persistent acidity that drives this wine forwards. Lasting an age on the finish, lifted red fruit notes and a grainy tannin grip remain.
