Leitz Rudesheimer Berg Rottland Trocken 2011

Tasting Notes:

A wonderful flavor of ripe apples, mirabelles, peach, lemon a little pineapple. Touches of jasmine and a hint of passion fruit are discernible. This Riesling is a mineral, almost salty Riesling with a brilliant fruity acidity. The Rottland soil characterized by gray slate retained its moisture well in the fall, so the grapes could withstand the long fine weather period in late autumn without the stress of drought. A monumental, very extravagant wine. Serve with creamy gratinée potatoes, baked veal sweetbread with fresh morels, roast goose, pike balls with spinach, air-dried ham and sausages. Or with oysters.
