The Liberator Ep.27 The World Turned Upside Down 2018

The Liberator Ep.27 The World Turned Upside Down 2018

It was important to Rick that The Liberator should, in some small way, mark the events to date of the year 2020. Horrific bush fires in Australia, unprecedented plagues of locusts in East Africa, COVID-19… Plus, the uncertainty inflicted on the world with the perfect storm of Donald Trump, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin.

The Liberator Ep.25 It`s been a good year for the roses... 2020

The wine, the first ever Liberator Rosé and is one of Rick’s most confidential releases to date. It is made from Cinsault sourced from Otterkuil, a wheat, cattle and sheep farm (who also happen to supply grapes to the local Windmeul winery), located on the Durbanville Road in Agter-Paarl.

Van Loggerenberg 'Break a Leg' Rosé

Van Loggerenberg `Break a Leg` Rosé 2019

The `Break a Leg` rosé made by Lukas Van Loggerenberg is made from Cinsault from just two barrels of juice. It is a finely-textured wine, ripe and round with gorgeous softness, one of only a few such South African dry rosés. The quality shines through in this serious wine and more than stands up to some of the pricier southern Rhône versions.

Van Loggerenberg `Geronimo` Cinsault 2016

Van Loggerenberg `Geronimo` Cinsault 2019

Geronimo represents four barrels from two parcels of Cinsault, half from 30 year old vines on the Bredell farm in Faure, with the balance from 45 year old material on Jacobsdal in Polkadraai. If your experience to date is of fruity, simple modern Cinsault from the avant-garde Cape, you can be reassured that this example is altogether more serious.
