Made reductively in order to maximize the fruit personality of the vintage. An intense nose of peaches, apricots and mineral citrus fruit. The palate is mouth-watering with minerality flinty notes on the finish.
Magdalena is the result of careful blending using the best barrel fermented Semillon blocks and some aromatic Sauvignon Blanc that was picked early. The wine reflects the minerality of the Bot River soils and the perfumed aromas of maritime climate fruit.
Crystallum Wines is a boutique wine operation started in 2007 by brothers Peter-Allan and Andrew Finlayson. The brothers are third generation wine producers and sons of South Africa’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay pioneer, Peter Finlayson and are fast gaining a reputation for their superb quality.
The 2011 Paradisium is richer and slightly darker than the 2010. The nose displays very expressive notes of anise, bay leaf and Turkish Delight notes. There is some spice and backbone to the wine courtesy of the Mourvedre which, combines beautifully with the succulence and silkiness of the Syrah. Limited supply!
