Great Value new wave Chilean Pinot which is quite a profound experience for the money. It`s made from a selection of young vines mainly sourced from hillside blocks planted on a mixture of red clay and decomposed granite. The wine was aged for a total of 9 months in second use French oak barrels before being bottled with minimal filtration.
The grapes for this wine come from their estate vineyards on the Felton Road. Handpicked and hand crafted, this wine reflects the nature of the vintage displaying great concentration and balance. Red fruits of the forest along with blackberries dominate the aroma, these are underpinned by savoury herb and liquorice.
The grapes were partially destemmed before treading by foot in the traditional lagars, a hallmark of Quinta do Infantado wines. Fermentation is long at Infantado, producing drier wines, some of the wine was aged in tank and some in oak barrel of various sizes and ages.
This is a great cool climate Pinot Noir from the esteemed Aconcagua Costa Valley in Chile. The grapes were hand picked to ensure optimum ripeness and quality. The wine was aged for 10 months in French Oak barrels to gain complexity without overpowering the fresh fruit character.

The wine has an aroma of savoury ripe plum and cherry with a hint of game and smoky oak. Light to medium bodied with round, mouthfilling flavours of plum and cherry, pleasing weight and a long elegant finish with good acidity. Oak integrates nicely with the fruit and helps with the silky tannin structure.

The Heirloom Vineyards Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir was produced from a single site in the Adelaide Hills. This quartz-laden site is free draining and the vines face north. Heirloom use their own Pinot Noir clones and handtend their vines meticulously, carefully balancing cutting edge techniques with old-school viticulture and winemaking.

This fine Pinot Noir and is a stimulating example of a hand-made wine created with minimal intervention. It is so different, not polished, but full of character. Some of the grape bunches are left whole and crushed under their own weight to create some spice notes.
This wine is very much a sum of its parts, with perfumed cherry characters coming from the Sexton Vineyard, Campari notes from Applejack and Tarraford`s mocha and cocoa earthiness shining through. It has vibrant red and blue fruits but a lovely underlying earthiness, with white mushrooms, truffles, savoury spice, forest floor and must stick.
