Although Pinot Grigio is best known for the production of white wines, the grapes actually have a pink tinge to them when they are ripe. The wine gets its delicate pink colour from contact with the grape skins during the winemaking process.

German producer Villa Wolf make some absolutely fabulous, great value wine. This Pinot Noir Rosé from the Rhine River Valley is a great crowd pleaser. The wine has a delicate red berry aroma, with notes of strawberry, red currant and stone fruits. A hint of residual sugar adds a roundness to the palate, elegantly balanced by fresh acidity.
Le Poussin is made by Sacha Lichine of Whispering Angel fame. The Pink Chick is a delicate, pale pink blend made mostly from Grenache with a little dash of Syrah to round it out. It has floral, rose petal scents on the nose and a dry, well balanced palate with supple summer fruits.
