Chapoutier continues to produce wines of unbelievable value and this one is no exception. It has a gorgeous garnet red colour with red fruit aromas, mainly Morello cherries. Well-structured, with sustained tannins - medium bodied reds don`t get much better than this!

Le Poussin is made by Sacha Lichine of Whispering Angel fame. The Pink Chick is a delicate, pale pink blend made mostly from Grenache with a little dash of Syrah to round it out. It has floral, rose petal scents on the nose and a dry, well balanced palate with supple summer fruits.

Meet the Ecologist acknowledges the role played by all those vine-hugging, dungaree-wearing, sandal-shod, great-unwashed stereotypes making biological wines. You know the type – the ones with long, unkept beards (and that’s just the women) who can be found in their vines smoking their cover-crop.

Raptor Post from Fable Mountain Vineyards is a Rhone style blend from Tulbagh. Aged for 12 months in old French Oak the wine is produced in a modern, fruit forward style. On the nose the wine displays fresh brambly fruit characters with peppery sweet spice. Bright and easy drinking on the palate with ripe red fruit and a spicy finish.

Vineyards around Lake Kaltern are very small in size and most of the winemakers in the region have less than one hectare of land, for a small winemaker it is virtually impossible to make and market their own wine so the co-operative of Kaltern was set up in 1906 with the goal of producing high quality wines.

Chateau D`Esclans Whispering Angel is the introductory wine to the Chateau’s line of Rose. Salmon coloured with aromas of redcurrant and raspberry. Williams Chase Rose is a beautiful classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault. By harvesting at night, the freshness of the wine is preserved and a short cold-maceration for the must in contact with the skins imparts the enticing pale shade of pink. Dry, with a touch crushed red fruits. The perfect Provencal rose.

Grenache is one of the most widely planted red varieties in the world, but is exceptionally rare in New Zealand. This Cellar Selection wine is wonderfully ripe and fragrant, overflowing with perfumed cherry, licorice, and violet characters.

Deep ruby red in colour, with a black cherry core. This wine has lively berry fruits on the nose, with a touch of liquorice and a hint of black pepper. Full of fruit, juicy and round with ripe tannins that gently support the cherry, cassis and herb character on the finish.

The 2017 Wanderer’s Heart is a Cape Red – a wine that is built around the incredible vineyards found all over the Western Cape. The wine’s aromas include tea leaf, dried cranberry, exotic woods, star anise, coriander seed and citrus peel, and a whiff of the apothecary’s chest. On the palate there’s naartjie peel, cloves and damson plums.

Beautiful dark red dress. The nose is powerful with intense notes of juniper, black olives and pepper. In the mouth, it is an explosion of red fruit, with floral and spicy notes, but with a very nice balance combining great freshness, a beautiful complexity, a soft texture and a nice acidity. A wine that has a lot of character.

Straw yellow with light copper hues. The bouquet is elegant and complex with floral notes of jasmine and perfumes of white peach, apricot, pear and golden apple. The refined palate is perfectly balanced with all the flavour components that appear on the nose, along with touches of honey and a flinty mineral note on the finish.

A Biodynamic Cotes du Rhone from Domaine Richaud. A deep and dense wine with aromas of ripe black fruit, notes of violet and pepper. The wine is full bodied and silky with the fruit continuing to the palate, balanced by notes of earth, leather and sweet spice. Powerful and intriguing.

This lovely Cannonau from the Argiolas family is Sardinia is deep ruby red with garnet tinges. Aromas jump out of the glass, showing hints of red berries, Mediterranean spices and herbs. The palate is warm, well-rounded with good structure and perfect balance. A super food wine and terrific value.

The P`tit Pape is a Northern Rhone style blend, of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvédre from the Californian Central Coast. Aromas of wild thyme, sagebrush and cranberry lead into a lighter yet lively palate full of chaparral spice, cracked pepper and zesty red fruit. Serve with anything.

Rock Angel rose is an iconic Provencal rose from the Esclans house. Pushing the envelope of Provence Roses. 85% Grenache, 15% Rolle grapes from the best vineyard areas of La Motte Provence.

Winemaking is kept as natural as possible and Marcel never uses new oak. The wine remained in the cellar until bottling without fining or filtration, to keep as much of the fruit character as possible. Marcel adds no sulphur during the winemaking, with a tiny amount at bottling to ensure stability.The full bouquet is full of red fruit aromas.
