A cool east wind in Isonzo causes a big difference between day and night temperatures, which in turn slows ripening and allows the grapes to accumulate a great deal of flavour. This, along with the low yields Gianfranco Gallo achieves, and his proclivity for late picking, gives single vineyard wines of great intensity and richness. This wine has an open, aromatic nose. Fresh peach and greengage perfumes with a hint of tropical fruit. Excellent balance in the mouth between a rounded, fuller style of Sauvignon and the freshness characteristic of the region, finishes with a citrus tang and persistent minerality.
