With Liberator Rick’s Francophile palate in mind, the chenin parcels were selected from two growing sites, namely the Bottelary Hills and the Simonsberg mountains. In collaboration with his old mukker, Carl van der Merwe, they were fermented in stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness.

From Domaine Boutet Saulnier, this dry-style chenin blanc from the Loire Valley is all about the acidity and freshness. A deep nose bursting with lemongrass and jasmine notes floating over sun-warmed chalk, it's zippy and exciting, with a very long, dry finish. 

Light in alcohol at 12%. Medium yellow in colour with green tints. A bright, aromatic nose filled with crisp nuances of pink grapefruit, mango and sweet melon, interwoven with hints of soft white tea and honeysuckle.

Vouvray, located to the northeast of the town of Tours, produces the Loire Valley`s best-known Chenin Blanc wines and Alexandre Monmousseau`s Chateau Gaudrelle offers pure, complex wines considered among the finest of the appellation.

'Chapter Two ' is a 100% Chenin blanc from a single 49-year-old bush vine vineyard in the Paardeberg, Swartland.

Strong citrus and guava aromas on the nose with ripe pineapple and peach flavours that follows through on the palate along with crisp pear. These are complemented by a long, clean, crisp aftertaste making this a remarkably concentrated yet fresh and fruity style of Chenin Blanc which will develop with bottle ageing.

A Cape white blend, rather than using Chenin as the central variety, John Seccombe has lead with Roussanne, incorporating Chardonnay and Semillon.

The wine has a stunning pale straw colour with golden flecks. Initially the nose displays aromas of honeysuckle, marzipan and fresh brioche. These are then overpowered by the intense notes of stone fruit, white peaches, honeydew melon and lightly roasted almonds.

The Mullineux Old Vines White is a Chenin heavy blend from Swartland. Pale straw in colour, this wine has a nose of ripe, green citrus fruit and Christmas spices. The palate is fresh and richly textured, with notes of ripe pears, almonds and peaches, and a clove-like finish.

This Chenin Blanc from Thorne and Daughters is made with minimal intervention, in order to maximise the natrual expression of the terroir. Whole bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeast, ensure this wine if full of character.

AWAITING NEW VINTAGE A nicely racy and fruity bouquet: mango, white-fleshed fruits. A subtle palate with a lively and smooth attack. Peppery and spicy notes with a mineral finish.

A treat with grilled fish,  shellfish or a pan of vegetables with saffron, also perfect with a beautiful cheese platter.

This Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosh South Africa was awarded 5 Stars in Platter`s in 2017. The wine wine has aromatics of citrus, ripe peach, cut apple and gentle spice with a slight yeasty note. On the finish it has soft acidity with a hint of salinity. It`s a beautiful accompaniment to seafood, salad and white meat dishes.

Only fruit selected from oldest Chenin Blanc vineyards, planted in 1974 and ‘78, are used for this wine. Barrel fermentation takes place in 400L French oak using only natural yeasts. No malo lactic fermentation takes place in order to retain as much natural freshness..This flagship white wine has received 4 Platter 5 star ratings in the past.

The 2018 growing season was again very dry and yields were well below normal, resulting in wines with incredible texture, depth and concentration. The nose is flinty with some stone fruit and citrus aromatics. The palate is tight, long, flinty with notes of grapefruit and cinnamon-spiced apples.
