Very deep ruby in colour with a youthful purple rim and lively, perfumed nose. Cherries, ripe blackberries and a touch of spice on the nose give way to a supple, dark plummy structure with a spicy, black pepper character on the finish.

Shiraz has long been Coriole’s principal variety and was first planted on the estate in 1919, while Sangiovese was planted at Coriole in 1983. An alluring nose abundant with aromas of ripe cherry, freshly-turned earth, star anise and roasted almond.
The juice was barrel-fermented in 228l second-fill Burgundy-shaped barrels, and matured “sur-lie” in thebarrel for 8 months with occasional “barrel rolling” to add richness to the palate. To accentuate the fresh citrus flavour, 32 % tank-fermented Chenin Blanc was blended with the barrel fermented portion.
