Hungarian Wine

Hungarian wine is synonymous with the Tokaji wine region and the eponymous Tokaji azsù is known as the wine of kings and the king of wines as well as the elixir of Tsars!  This stellar reputation is due to the fact that during the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, Hungary was invaded, conquered and re-conquered several times.  During this turbulent time, the Hungarians smartly sent bottles of Tokaji azsù to various European royal courts as gifts and the rest is history! There is also a dry style of Tokaji that features the Furmint grape variety.  There is a Tokaji for everyone!
