The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc were harvested from the 16 year old, west facing, Cobblers Hill vineyard, situated on decomposed granite soils. A selection of the best barrels was made and the wine spent a total of 24 months in 225 litre French oak barrels.Complex dark chocolate, black cherry and cassis intertwine with opulent blackberry fruit, and hints of mint and toasty vanilla. This is a big mouthfilling wine, with densely layered ripe tannins, beautifully balanced and refined – the ultimate expression of the Jordan terroir.

About the Producer

Jordan

Gary and Kathy Jordan have meticulously built the quality and reputation of the Jordan label in South Africa. Gary`s parents bought the unique north, south, east and west facing vineyard in 1982 and a massive program of replanting began that saw the best varietals planted on the each slope with its unique geological characteristics. Gary and Kathy gained experience internationally, and returned to make the wines in 1992, with the first vintage being produced the following year. The Jordans produce a wide range of wines that are essential expressions of the terroir through the blending of high tech, classic wine-making techniques and their deep understanding of the potential of their vineyards.
