The best Rioja you`ve never heard of, a classic old school style, blending 85% Tempranillo, 10% Mazuelo and 5% Graciano, that’s matured in oak for 22 months and an additional 14 months in the bottle, the Reserva has Tempranillo from San Quiles, which Amézola consider their best vineyard. María and Cristina Amézola Downes are two of the youngest bodega owners in Rioja Alta, They inherited Bodegas Amézola de la Mora when their father Iñigo died in a tragic accident. Georges Pauli is the consultant oenologist previously working as technical advisor to Château Gruaud Larose in Bordeaux. He`s continued to provide stalwart advice and support to the two sisters.
