Portugal has entered an era of fine still wine production, featuring its indigenous Portuguese wine varietal treasures like Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira and Alvarinho, as well as the famous fortified Port. There are many styles of port, including ruby (a blend of big, ruby-coloured wines), tawny (a blend of lighter wines from cool regions), vintage port (a blend of high quality wines from a single year, often aged for 30 years or more), Late Bottled Vintage (a wine from a single year, bottled between the 4th and 6th years after harvest), crusted (blended from a number of years, bottled young) and white port (a blend of white grapes).
