Opaque black in colour, with flashes of violet and an ethereal, highly complex nose with notes of red and black fruits, spices, smoke, forest groves and sweet, fresh wood. The palate has excellent breadth and depth of juicy fruit.
The Malbec specialists at Altos Las Hormigas are based in Luján de Cuyo, the only officially recognised appellation in Mendoza. The grapes are sourced from the alluvial terrace of Altamira, lying at 1,200 metres above sea level.
